ABOUT KATI
Kathryn M. Phillips, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #134447
Welcome to Kati Phillips Marriage & Family Therapy
Kati Phillips (she/hers) is a certified emotionally-focused therapist with advanced training in sex therapy and LGBTQ-affirmative therapy. She works with adults, adolescents, couples and folks in consensual non-monogamous relationships. Using attachment theory as her treatment lens, she helps people identify and disrupt their negative interaction patterns so that they can be more accessible, engaged and responsive to the people they love.
In her practice, Kati believes that clients have the strengths to solve many of their own problems, and she works with people to figure out what works for them and how to do it more. She focuses on hope and acceptance to help people adjust to life’s challenges and live authentic lives.
Prior to becoming a therapist, Kati told other people’s stories, first as a journalist and then as a political and non-profit communications strategist in Chicago and Los Angeles. She became a therapist to help people understand and tell their own stories.
